Evening Set
Arriving at the venue any time from 5pm to set up (this will take approx. 90 mins). An idea for evening sets is for me to play it like the combination of a great club night and the best house party ever. After all you’ll have your best friends and family around you. I start with a warm up set, tunes to set the atmosphere and to let your guests know the party has started. This will build organically giving a house party vibe until the first dance (if you’re having one) the choice of first dance and how it happens is completely up to you. Then the main set until close.
All day
Your wedding day is a collection of moments, happiness, and love. I will prioritise creating an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.
I will arrive early to meticulously set up my equipment, which will avoid any disruption when your guests arrive. With an engaging set of tunes, your guests will immediately notice that music is going to play a significant role throughout your special day. Showcasing my expertise as a DJ during the ceremony, I will seamlessly integrate your chosen music, maintaining the perfect ambiance.
As we move into the reception, the musical vibe will elevate the enjoyment of sipping champagne and mingling with wonderful company.
During the wedding breakfast, I will offer a diverse and exciting musical journey. Guests can enjoy a rich selection of grooves, including relaxed instrumental jazz, acoustic melodies, vibrant soul, and funk, often sampled in popular songs.
The evening set is a comprehensive collection of tracks designed to keep everyone dancing all night long. Each playlist is custom-created to reflect your personal taste. With a lively and warm introduction, I present a dynamic set featuring funk, soul, swing, and hip-hop beats, and if you choose to have a first dance, just give me a nod when you’re ready.
Your wedding day will be filled with love and fun moments, and of course sore feet from all the dancing.

Guest DJ evening set
you and your guests can rock the dance floor with a quick DJ lesson on the day and then on the evening a personally curated 10-15 Min set each, under professional DJ supervision. (Max 8 guests, approx. 2 hours) Guest DJ with a background playlist for rest of night.

Before you book
Mileage, all packages include a 50 mile round trip from central Bristol. Any further miles are charged at 50p per mile.

The Speaker Box Approach
DJ equipment and lighting is included with all DJ bookings. Marcus live mixes all music using his Technics turntables with a Pioneer DJM S-11 and Serato DJ Pro then plays it out on a Maui 44G2 sound system.
It is this combination of new technology and a traditional turntable set-up that is an absolute winner. It provides a real hands-on spectacle for your guests and enables Marcus to feel part of the party.
Also included in all bookings is intelligent lighting that brings your venue to life and enhances the dancefloor experience. All lighting is programmed in advance of your event to the individual song tracks and colour scheme. Soundswitch is used for this.

No hunching over a laptop pressing buttons at a Speaker Box party. Live mixing your favourite tracks is what Marcus loves to do best.
For weddings and parties, I DJ using Serato Scratch Live with a RANE 62 mixer and Technics turntables. This enables me to DJ exactly how I would in a club, but with access to my extensive library of tracks.
Sound comes courtesy of my BOSE system. If your venue already has a PA sound system installed and they stipulate that the DJ has to use it, that’s fine. As long as it is suitable for a DJ performance, I’ll happily plug into it.
Set-up and break-down of equipment is always seamless and discreet.
I can supply tasteful – but exciting – lighting, including uplighting, which is great for highlighting architectural features – or adding general ambiance.
I don’t use dotty lights or lasers that can ruin photographs. Most of my lighting is ‘colour wash’, and is wifi-controlled and battery powered. This means it can be placed anywhere in your venue without the need to tape cables to the floor.
Lighting can also be scripted to your first dance.
