People I work alongside and genuinely rate. Venues I know well, caterers who always deliver, photographers who add to the day, and musicians who can follow wherever the music goes.
Venues
Recommended Venues
I'm lucky to get to play at some amazing venues around the country. Here are a few I'm a recommended supplier for.
The Mount Without
Nine hundred years of atmosphere and my favourite room in Bristol to play. A deconsecrated church on St Michael's Hill. The acoustics work beautifully, the dancefloor fills early and stays that way.
Read MoreBrunswick House
Antiques, candlelight, and a basement dancefloor that never disappoints. A Georgian mansion in Vauxhall that doesn't look like a wedding venue. It looks like the best house party you've ever been to. One of my favourite rooms in London.
Read MoreLulworth Castle
Gothic windows, exposed brick, and a dancefloor in the Great Hall. A 17th-century hunting lodge on the Dorset coast, gutted by fire in 1929 and now one of the most extraordinary rooms in the South West to play in.
Read MoreThe Clifton Observatory
High on the Downs above the Gorge, the Observatory is one of Bristol's most quietly spectacular venues. Small, intimate, with views that do most of the talking before the music starts. A space where everything feels considered, which suits the couples who tend to book it.

Bianchi's
Simply amazing food and service from a local Bristol company. One of the recommended caterers at The Mount Without and the one I always look forward to seeing on the planning sheet.

Recommended Photographers
Across more than a thousand weddings I've seen a lot of photographers. Most are great, but here are a couple who don't just take great pictures, they add to your day. Speaker Box wants the party to feel like a club night in your best mate's kitchen. These two are like your other mate who takes insane pictures.
Oliver Holder
A photographer who has become a great friend. Oliver stood out from the first time I met him. He stayed well beyond the first dance, threw some moves on the dancefloor, and took better photos because of it. Boundless friendly energy and serious skill.

If Oliver's boundless spaniel energy isn't for you, Ruby takes it down a notch. If Ruby's energy is still not for you, you need to start googling wedding photography near you. A truly lovely person and very skilled photographer, one who feels like she's adding to your guest list, not just there to work.

Recommended Musicians
Matt Bee
The Cotswold wedding guitarist. Lots of energy and skill, and the originator of the jukebox guitar concept, where guests choose from a board what he plays next. Great for outdoor receptions.
Visit WebsiteMost sax players work from a pre-agreed set list. Fine if you want two polished 30-minute sets, but it limits the spontaneity of the night. Both of mine can freestyle, which is exactly how I work.
Andy Sax
An incredible saxophonist who brings the party to the dancefloor. Andy can freestyle to any music, which is perfect for the way I DJ. His ability to jam and follow wherever the music goes really pays off. Some of the best moments of a night happen when Andy's in the room.

A versatile saxophonist who hits the balance most musicians don't. Somewhere between planned sets and full freestyle, without being too constrained either way. A great complement to a Speaker Box party.
