Typically the evening starts with a warm atmospheric set during drinks: Soul, Funk, Rare Groove, Jazz-inflected grooves that set a mood without overwhelming conversation. As the night builds I bring the energy up organically, reading the room and responding to who’s on the dancefloor, what’s working, and where the night needs to go next.
The Mount Without’s space means there’s nowhere to hide as a DJ, but equally, a well-judged set sounds incredible in there. I mix live on Technics turntables throughout, so your guests see a DJ actually DJing rather than someone staring at a laptop.

Speaker Box is Marcus Lovell: a Bristol club DJ with over 20 years of experience on the decks at some of the city’s most celebrated nights, including a long residency at Dojo’s, where he ran the Hip Hop, Funk, R&B and Soul nights alongside artists including Jazzie B (Soul II Soul) and Daddy G from Massive Attack.
