We hired Marcus to play at our wedding after much investigation into DJs. We wanted something a bit more authentic – not one of these DJs that turns up with a memory stick. Marcus is the opposite of this. His vinyl collection and knowledge of music (hip-hop and R&B in particular) is second to none.

We had a fusion wedding (British/Asian) and our love for music meant we had to find the right DJ for our wedding – someone who is reasonable, friendly, [plays] music to suit our taste and – most importantly – someone who can get the party started without having to speak on the mic to encourage people to come onto the dance floor. Marcus delivered on all of these fronts and more.
Marcus set the venue up with his lighting (which looked amazing) along with his equipment a day before the wedding for no extra cost and took it down too, without anyone having to extend him any help. Marcus has a very likeable personality and his energy was very well transpired through his music onto the dance floor at our wedding. Easy win. Thank you Marcus.

Prior to the wedding day, Marcus was extremely accessible and accommodating. I sent him a detailed playlist and asked him for his input. His feedback was very helpful and his suggestions were incorporated into the set on the night.
He plays a wide selection of all music and manages to mix and blend many different styles to get the crowd pumping. Prior to hiring him, we went to his house to see an example set and his passion for music and DJing shown during this [visit] cemented our decision that he was the DJ for us.

Marcus does not change tracks by pushing a button, like most wedding DJs nowadays – he mixes the songs and slowly drops the next track at the right beat, fading in and out as required.
Marcus DJ’d at our wedding and provided a fantastic evening of music for us at a really competitive price. Marcus was very accommodating of our music choices (we had our own set list), and making contact/arrangements was very easy.

On the night itself, we hired Punjabi drummers to play alongside Marcus. This is where Marcus’ skills as a DJ came to the fore. He complimented the playing of the drummers with his own mix of records and, in so doing, he worked in harmony with them to create a seamless musical landscape. The results were nothing short of magical.
He arrived promptly at the venue with a quick set-up, which meant our guests weren’t unduly waiting. His equipment is modern and up-to-date. He looks the part, wearing nice attire. I would definitely recommend Marcus and will use him at the next possible opportunity.

From start to finish, Marcus was a winner. We only had one face-to-face meeting [prior to the wedding], as that is all that was required; then a few email exchanges about the playlist (first dance, etc), set-up times, and that’s it.
On our wedding day itself, Marcus arrived promptly, set up professionally, and put on a great set, which had all of our guests up and dancing! Marcus is a DJ in the proper sense – i.e. he mixes the songs live and gave care and attention to the ordering of our set list to make sure the music flowed well over the course of the evening.
I couldn’t have been happier with the choice of Marcus as our wedding DJ. He made the entire experience very easy, both before the wedding and on the night of the reception.
Marcus also incorporated live mixing into the playlist. This also showcased his skills as a DJ because it set him apart from the majority of other DJs. So many of our guests commented on how unique the entire musical experience had been and how wonderfully coordinated Marcus’ accompaniment had been with the drummers. Marcus was a joy to work with and he made a memorable day even more memorable!
